Awesome Accommodations
Came with friends to do the IM World Championships! The house is in a great location for easy access to the race venue. It is on a quiet hillside with beautiful views and a wonderful breeze all day! The host and the caretakers were great as well. We would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a great Kona experience.

Perfect Hawaiian Getaway!
This property has everything to offer and more! Truly Heaven on earth! The outdoor area with the pool, hot tub, and fountains made our stay so relaxing! We made fun meals on the Evie grill! Owners and caretaker were so great, very helpful and responsive. Definitely will be returning!

Great Views
This was a great home and the views were amazing! Nothing like sitting outside and watching the sunset every night. Our family really enjoyed our stay. The hosts communication was great. We spent the mornings outside relaxing and listening to the birds. The neighborhood was quiet and safe so you got to hear the natural sounds of nature around you. What a relaxing place. The house was stocked with everything you need, probably the best we have had in any VRBO which was very nice. Great pans and dishware. We would definitely comeback!

Wonderful time!
The house was perfect, it was as wonderful as described on the Vrbo site. Our questions and requests were met as expected and we were very satisfied. They also tuned the piano. Everything we needed was there. We enjoyed the sunsets, hot tub, hammock,waterfall,BBQ, piano, ocean views, birds chirping, flowers, etc. We had so much fun it was hard to leave. We would definitely use your services again.

The perfect place for a perfect week

Beautiful home, great view
The photos do not do the house justice. It’s a real “wow” when you walk in and see the outdoor living space, the pool waterfall, and the view. The house is the best equipped one we’ve ever rented - every kitchen gadget, spices, cooking basics, paper towels, laundry necessities, beach chairs, etc. We cooked several meals easily. Great grill. The house is clearly lived in by the owners which made it cozy, comfortable and fully accessorized. Recommend without hesitation and will return.

Great Property!

Thanksgiving to remember
We had such a wonderful week in Hawaii! The property has everything you need- huge kitchen, very comfortable beds, and the pool is spectacular. Evening sunsets in the hot tub were a favorite. and we loved the outdoor shower! The town of Kona was a quick 15 minute drive along with any grocery shopping needed to our evening meals. Owner was very responsive and the caretakers were available when you needed them (but otherwise stay to themselves)- and are lovely! We forgot something and they offered to drive it the the airport for us. I would love to stay here again!

60th Birthday
Our family of seven stayed and had a wonderful time. The amenities cannot be beat. The house is stock with all you need to enjoy the beach or the pool. The pictures do not do it justice. I was exactly what we were looking for to be able to enjoy our vacation all together.

Paradise in Kona

A Dream
This is an amazing home to stay in! Beautiful, clean, organized, spacious, luxurious, the comforts of home and paradise wrapped into one! The owners and care takers are so kind and friendly, offered suggestions on the area, and are prompt to respond to questions. There was 6 of us staying here and we all had plenty of space to ourselves but the house offers so much to bring us together. We were in the pool everyday and unwound at night in the jacuzzi. The pool is very deep, which we loved! We grilled up family dinners outside and even borrowed some beach gear and a cooler that was provided for our adventures away from the house. They provide plenty of towels, cookware, some pantry staples like olive oil, vinegar, etc, there was even some fresh pineapple, cold beer waiting and music playing for us when we arrived. The owners have really taken the time and thought of everything you could possibly need to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. I would absolutely love to stay here again and recommend this place HIGHLY to families vacationing together.

Ease of staying here

Paradise
Spacious, Stunning views, large kitchen and lanai, lush landscaping, private, gorgeous pool and hot tub. The home is well equipped with everything!. What a wonderful vacation! After a few attempts to get the family together since Covid we were able to spend quality time with my mother, 78. (Thanks again Alanya!) We were busy exploring the island, enjoyed a helicopter ride, chartered boat, snorkel tour, zip lined, scuba. But my favorite part of this trip was going back to the house and watching the sunsets. Didn’t want to leave!
This was the best experience for our friends and family. The home was impeccable and stocked with everything you could ever need. We are typically on the go when on vacation, but this time we chose to spend more time on the property. We loved the well-stocked kitchen and dining on the lanai watching the beautiful sunsets and ocean views! This is a beautiful home and peaceful neighborhood, yet close to restaurants and shopping. The perfect combination. Alanya is the perfect hostess and the caretakers we’re very kind and communicative. Top notch all the way, and we look forward to returning!

Great home
Did a group trip to celebrate a friend’s birthday and must say we LOVED this house! As beautiful as the island is, we ended up spending a large portion of our trip enjoying the view and all the amenities. The sunset views never disappointed. Alanya was easy to communicate with and prompt with responses. Location is not far from the Kona airport and downtown Kona area..

Awesome View, Great Location, Wonderful Host
This beautiful home was PERFECT for our extended family vacation during the Christmas Holidays. # AWESOME VIEW of the Pacific from up in the hill with beautiful sunsets to watch every day # GREAT LOCATION - we could readily drive to the town of Kailua-Kona and south Kona Beaches or to All the Beaches up North. Costco is just down the main street and airport too is a very short drive. Volcano National Park is similar driving distance via the south shore route or via Hilo. # WONDEFUL HOST – Alanya was very friendly and courteous. She was prompt in communicating and very accommodating. Her home is very welcoming and makes one feel like one’s own with comfortable rooms, nice living and dining area, a fully stocked kitchen, and all amenities. It is kind and generous of her to share it with guests and make them feel completely at home. The house is meticulous, well designed with lots of open space and very well maintained - our family enjoyed being at home just as much as our daily trips around the island. Outside patio with the hot tub and the pool are gorgeous and a great place to relax and enjoy the lovely weather with beautiful, expansive views of the ocean. Our stay in this house made for a truly relaxing and memorable vacation for our extended family. Having stayed at similar vacation rental properties over the years, this one has been the best for above reasons and many more. Mahalo!

Dreamy home in great location
My family and I loved staying in this home. The property owners and caretakers were quick to respond to questions, gracious, and welcoming. The home is lovely and functional for families, and would also work well for multiple singles or couples. Very well-stocked with everything you need in the kitchen or at the beach. Located a short drive from everything near Kona. Absolutely recommended!

I was simply blown away!!
The home has everything you need. I made the mistake of going to the store 1st to buy everything I thought I needed. They already had alot of the things I needed. From cleaning supplies to sunscreen to the complimentary robes (to use while there) to the equipment for the beach...all you really need to do is unpack. I must admit that I was a little worried about the home not having a/c...but let me tell you...the house stayed cool. The home has the best views and the pictures of this home does it no justice!!

My party consisted of five females, of varying ages and from varied walks of life; and I cannot say enough about how we thoroughly and completely enjoyed every moment we had to spend in your beautiful home. From watching the beautiful sunset over the ocean to relaxing with a home cooked meal, everything we needed and then some was right at our fingertips. The location was extremely convenient so that venturing out was done with ease. Yet, the best part was returning home to play in the pool and relax in the jacuzzi. Preparing meals was really fun and easy as the kitchen was magnificent and so very well supplied! Thank you for sharing your extremely lovely home and for your kindness as our host! Awesome week
Property better than expected! We filled everyday with big island adventures and this was the perfect home base. Huge house, incredible sun deck and pool with hot tub. Chefs kitchen with new appliances made dinner time a breeze. Evening cocktails watching the sunset at the fire pit over looking the vast pacific was better than any resort. Fruit trees, wild pheasants and an incredible outdoor shower pavilion were some of our families favorite parts of the home. For me the whole place made our trip from New York worth the travel! Hosts were always available and took the time to address any issue or concern before many owners would have even replied to your text! We will definetly rent again-Mahalo

Fantastic property and owners
I couldn’t have been more pleased with finding this fabulous location for our adult family get together. I was the lucky one to get to stay in the art studio/guest bungalow. I’ve been to the Big Island many times and this was the first time I have ever spent the entire first day in Hawaii without leaving the property. The pool and hot tub, fire pit and pool seating were all we needed to start our stay. The owners, Alanya, was totally accommodating and provided us with some fresh fruit, and cold drinks, and the kitchen was well stocked with spices and dishes. The groundskeeper was great and immediately helped with any question or needs. I can’t wait to come back! Ps. Please read the property description if you have small children. It is not recommended for small children and I wholeheartedly agree. Perfect home for adults, or older children. Because we had one really well behaved child to 8 adults it worked out well, for us but I wouldn’t bring all my grandchildren. ❤️

Kona Hale Wailele Visit
Property was beautiful and as pictured. The home was as comfortable as it was beautiful and my extended family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All amenities were top notch. We played in the pool, used the hot tub, visited around the fire pit, cooked (even using lemons and herbs from the property), and used the home as our base to explore more of the island. Wonderful family friendly property!
Hale Wailele provided an absolutely perfect location for our family vacation! The pool and hot tub are a terrific place to relax and enjoy the sunset and then stars. The home has so many other fantastic features such as the outdoor tub/shower, sauna, etc. There is plenty of space, so when family members can enjoy each other's company when they want - yet also retreat to quiet space when they desire. The attentiveness of the owner and grounds caretaker was top notch. Alayna provided great suggestions to enhance our visit to the island as well. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about our stay. From a flourishing lemon tree to make fresh lemonade...to ample beach gear to travel to the shore...it was everything I'd hoped for ~ Mahalo!

This gorgeous property was perfect for our family and friends aged 18-83. We enjoyed the beautiful pool and sunsets each evening. The view was spectacular. We were close to grocery stores and an easy drive to the waterfront for shopping and dining. The house was well stocked for cooking when we chose to eat in. We based out of Kona and took day trips to Hilo and Volcano National Park. We met the owners and they were so nice and gave us excellent suggestions for activities and shopping. Everyone in our group loved the house and had a great time during our stay.

Hawaiian Paradise
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and well appointed. It felt like home. The beds were very comfortable and had quality bedding. The best part of the week was how quiet and relaxing the property was. We enjoyed early morning coffee around the pool listening to the birds. The property has many types of birds that we saw everyday. The grounds had many types of plants, flowers and trees that were beautiful and fragrant. While the house was on a hill with million dollar views of the ocean, it was a short 15 minute ride into Kailua to be a tourist, or to a grocery store to get supplies, or get to a beach to play in the surf. There was plenty of beach gear at the home in different sizes to accommodate kids and adults alike. We had an amazing week in a beautiful home and would certainly stay here again. In fact, we really wanted to stay another week! We would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to get away in a Hawaiian Paradise.

Our dream vacation come true!
Our family saw this house on vrbo and liked what we saw. But we didn't imagine how beautiful it was until we got there. It was truly a dream come true and more. The home and property are so well kept and amazing. The view took our breath away! We had 6 adults and 4 children with us and there was something for everyone Alanya is a wonderful and very accommodating hostess. The house had all that we needed which made for an easy and relaxing stay. We would definitely recommend this lovely place for a vacation!! It is close to the airport and wonderful beaches. Amazing home to relax with family
This home was outstanding with room for family to spread out and enjoy all it has to offer from an amazing yard with pool and outstanding view of the ocean and sunsets. We only ate out once or twice and that was to force ourselves out and so we didn't have to cook or do dishes. :) Oh and forget the showers in the house, the outside shower is the place to go! Luxury Home for a Luxury Stay
This home is everything you can expect in a rental of this caliber! We were a group of 8 women on a fun getaway that we do together every two years. This home was the best we have ever rented and could ever hope to rent again. Everything you could possibly need for your stay is available. We had such high hopes of seeing so much of the island but found ourselves numerous times not even leaving the house. Alanya was a great host and communicator for any questions we might have had or any concerns leading up to our stay. If you have an opportunity to rent this home do so without hesitation!

Exceeded Expectations
I wish I could upload the video I took of this property. The entire experience exceeds all expectations. Alanya the host was perfect in her communications with too notch suggestions. The hidden attention to detail and unexpected surprises throughout the property were awesome. This place is perfect for 3-4 couple that wanna chill on a beautiful view and exceptional lanai. 10 minutes into downtown Kona. 10 min to the airport. Totally secluded and peaceful but still in the heart of whatever you want to do. Whatever you do. Get back to the lanai for Sunset. It’s breathtaking. 😎�

Best vacation site ever!
We were thrilled to see that the house was everything that was advertised. Each of the 3 families was comfortable and found it easy to do what suited them. The fact that each family had their own bathroom facilities was an extra bonus. Some people liked the hot tub and others liked the pool. So it was nice having both. The sitting areas under protection from rain was great. We loved sitting out there in all kinds of weather. The kitchen was perfectly supplied with utensils and pans. That worked well for us as we did a lot of cooking there, rarely eating out. We loved the pantry. It was great for storing our food. The location was close to shopping and to the beach. This house will make your trip.
Such a beautiful home and landscape. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to stay here. We are a blended family with 8 kids between us, and this was the perfect place for our family of 10. The on-site care taker was very friendly and attentive. The owner was very accommodating and quick to respond before, during, and after our stay, and quickly refunded our security deposit. The home wasn’t stocked with everything you can think of. Coolers, scuba gear, boogie boards, water and sand toys for the little ones, and you will save hundreds by not having to rent all that stuff. I typically don’t come back to the same place, because it’s a big world out there and we like to experience new things, but this place makes me reconsider that philosophy. Even better than the pictures, this place will not disappoint. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us, it was amazing!

Best House on The Big Island!
This was by far the most gorgeous house we could have rented. For our family of 9 it was perfect. No one ever felt as if they were on top of one another. The location is prime (only 12 minutes from the Kona Airport). From the caretakers to the owners you’d think you have landed on a high end resort. Their customer service is fantastic. Besides the house being absolutely stunning (pictures don’t do it justice), the Kona side is the place to be. We were away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists, yet an easy drive away to come off the mountain to enjoy the shops, restaurants, and attractions Kona has to offer. We would most definitely recommend this home and location to others. Thank you to Alayna and her family for opening their home to us. We couldn’t have asked for a more memorable trip. Mahalo!

Beuatiful home in beautiful location
This home is gorgeous. Full of artwork, including original works, sculptures, pieces, spaces designed for display. And the gorgeous artwork of Nature - ocean view with incredible sunsets, green space and plantings and birds and animals. Stars at night are unbelievable, even saw the Milky Way. All the comforts of home and then some. Bar area with any drink glass you can think of, beverages in the cooler, bottles in the cabinets (graciously stocked but if you drink it all, be considerate and gracious in kind, and re-stock). Full kitchen with any utensil you could need, multiple sets of tableware, serving ware and silverware, cabinets of spices and cooking staples. Every room is airy and open; ceiling fans in every room (we rarely needed them; temperatures were comfortable around the clock, just having the windows and doors open was perfect). Outside areas also wonderful! Two grills, outdoor eating area, lanai where we had coffee everyone morning and cocktails at sunset, fountains, swimming pool, hot tub. Just can't say enough about this wonderful home and setting. The house is at the end of a dead end road, above town. Enjoy walking around the property or along the quiet road with set back homes and beautiful gardens. Everything you could need is within short driving distance, about 10 minutes to Costco and 15 minutes to outskirts of Kailua-Kona. 10 minutes to closest beach (Turtle Beach at Honokohau Harbor, go right at the first shoreline access sign as you come to the marina). 15 minutes to the gorgeous Kua Bay Beach (water as you come around the curve is just stunning). So many other beaches, shopping, activities, cannot even begin to list them here. Alanya told us about the Hawaiian Vanilla Company tour and strongly recommend this - incredible meal, explanations about vanilla farming, beautiful setting. Full supply of water toys and chairs, umbrellas, coolers. Caretaker lives in separate home behind this home, he is available but was never obtrusive. Alanya as a host was wonderful. She always responded quickly to emails and texts. Provided many references at the house, including a binder full of information about the home, the family, and the area. She answered all our questions with helpful information that made our stay even more enjoyable - places to eat, things to do, really anything we needed, she helped us with. If we are every lucky enough to go back to Hawaii again, there is no question that we will stay at this beautiful home.

Absolute first-class paradise

This home was such an amazing place to stay for our family. Clean. The ambience was nice. Had everything you need to relax and unwind. The pool and fountain were beautiful and the hot tub was nice to use at night as it was slightly chilly. The firepit was also a nice addition too. Alanya and Rick were very responsive and such good caretakers. The welcome basket was really nice of them and they made you feel right at home. Thanks so much for such an amazing stay!

Perfect Home and Beautiful Location for our Family!
Our extended family of 9 just returned from enjoying a four-night stay at this beautiful home. The location was perfect, the grounds were immaculate and the home very comfortably accommodated our large family. Perched up on the mountainside, the ocean views are breath-taking and can be enjoyed from any area of the backyard. Our family had a great time using the fire-pit, jacuzzi, swimming pool, and a hammock. The kitchen had high-end appliances, was large and well-stocked, with plenty of seating inside and out. Alanya is also very responsive and is the nicest owner we have worked with. She had a welcome basket and a visitors guide outlining fun activities and restaurants if you are interested. The caretaker was also great to work with and recommended a beach for us to visit that was truly remarkable - we have never seen water that clear or blue. You will be very happy if you choose this property for your stay! We were very impressed and would love to stay again.

Perfect Vacation!
The house was absolutely beautiful and comfortable for our family of 10! The pool, spa, cabana, bbq and view (inspite of the vog) was the best! We were close to shopping and the airport but high enough to get the breezes. Alanya and Kent (the caretaker) were responsive to us in every way. We would love to come back.

Perfect Big Island Vacation Home
We thought the descriptions and photos of this home might be too good to be true, but it really lived up to all of the other reviews that are posted here. We rented it for the entire month of March along with three other couples and everyone was extremely pleased with all of the comforts and features. Usually we eat out a lot when we are in the Kona area; however, we ate in more often on this trip simply because the facilities and setting for Happy Hour and dinner are tough to beat. While the ocean view is distant we had a few sunsets that were spectacular (in fact the owners have now included some of our photos on this site). Several meals included preparing fresh local fish (available daily at Costco just down the road) on the EVO Grill. Macadamia nut pancakes were also a hit on the EVO. The Bose stereo system in the bar is pre-tuned to five perfect island music channels which we enjoyed often. During our stay they installed a new half-circle sitting area with a gas fire pit which made our evenings even more comfortable. The gazebo cover was only partially completed before we left but it should provide needed shade and rain protection when finished. Because this property is located a little over 1,000 feet above sea level it tends to be cooler and wetter, but we found that to be just fine after spending most days in the sun at one of our many favorite beaches up north (Beach 69, Hapuna, Kukio, 'A' Bay, Mauna Kea, etc.). The excellent hot tub was also put to good use on many evenings. We tend to watch a lot of TV at home so I was a little concerned that their isn't a TV in the main living area. That turned out to be a good thing as we probably had a much better time visiting with our other guests in this amazing setting while listening to nice music, eating pupus, and sipping tropical drinks (there are TVs in the den and bedrooms but they were rarely used). The on-property caretaker, Kent, was very helpful and kept us supplied with all of the beach-going necessities including a wheeled cooler, beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, etc. The house has an amazing display of artwork and statuary that must have stories to tell (I've suggested to Alanya that she include some history and information about these pieces along with some family history since their photos are lovingly displayed). This is a perfect vacation home for a group of 6-8 people, or more with children. You won't be disappointed unless you need to be right on the beach!

We had a great stay. The house is spacious and well stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay from the kitchen to beach. Pictures don’t do the view justice. It is stunning, unobstructed ocean looking west. The house and grounds are very clean. We had small children and would recommend this house as long as parents are vigilant, which we should be wherever we are anyways! Kids loved the pool, hammock, yard, etc. The on-site caretaker was responsive and helpful.

Our family stayed here as a surprise for my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary. It was an amazing house that each family had their own bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen was large enough that 5 people could be working away and we weren't in each other's way. We absolutely loved the pool and hot tub and were in them every day. The caretakers were very nice helping with the automatic gate (it is a bit touchy). They were wonderful and I have already recommended this place to several other families. Thank you.

This house is everything represented - and more. We felt as though we were the only ones on the island due to the privacy of the property, yet it's so conveniently located. It was much
more room than our party of 6 needed, but that provided plenty of options for gathering and quiet spaces for reading or reflecting on the day's adventures. I had never heard of an EVO grill, but now we all want one! It was wonderful to cook up a couple of breakfasts for everyone at the same time and made fajitas a snap. The most unique quality of renting this home was the personal attention; we felt like part of the family, not renters. Alanya was responsive and welcoming from my first contact, and I have never rented a home with an on-site caretaker! It was like having a personal concierge. He was amazing - welcoming us, responding to questions within minutes, and providing us with beach chairs and an umbrella, which made our visits to Two Steps for snorkeling (a local told us about it; amazing!) and Green Sand Beach much more comfortable. I'm still dreaming of our stay . . .

From the beginning, the owners contacted us and made us feel like we were part of their "home". The home, Itself, was one of the most lovely places we've ever stayed. It had provisions for almost everything you could want to use on a vacation, and so much more. We had candlelight dinners as the sun set , and visited with friends as we sat in the hot tub to soothe our aching bodies from all the days' adventures. We just got back from a week's stay on the Big Island at this beautiful home. Let me just say, pictures don't do this place justice. We were a party of 5 though we were supposed to be a party of 7.....3 beds were never used. This house is truly spacious and we never felt claustrophobic. There are windows everywhere and wonderful views! The home is at the end of a dead end street so the only thing you hear are sprinklers and the morning wakeup songs of the birds at 6 a.m. (which only last about 15 minutes). So if your plan is to sleep in, you can still get a few more zzz's after the serenade. :-) Here are a few things I loved about the house: - comfy beds - big bathrooms - big kitchen - lots of places to eat (inside and outside) - nice size swimming pool - large hot tub (we had 4 grown ups in it....could have easily seated 2 more) - sauna (though we never used) - washer & dryer (I know....rather odd to mention....you are on vacation right? Let me say that I hate this weekly chore.....then why did I wash multiple times? Maybe it was the wonderful view, rising early to have my coffee and listen to the birds while everyone else slept, or maybe because that domestic chore made me feel like this was really My Home....and folding clothes seemed kind of fun. Crazy, huh?) - games to play, books to read, movie drawer, fuzball table - AWESOME grill (it's an EVO) Had no idea what an EVO was, but I will say that I must have one now. :-) We were able to cook pancakes, bacon, eggs, and french toast on it......in 15 minutes! No joke. (with 2 people working it of course!) We also cooked chicken, shrimp, hamburgers and vegetables on it too. - Chest full of swimming pool toys - Lots of beach towels - Access to beach chairs, ice chests, and boogie boards - Friendly caretakers on site to answer any questions - Close to town - Easy & quick access to airport (about 15 minutes away) - AWESOME SUNSET VIEWS OVER THE OCEAN (don't forget your camera....though my iphone 6 took some amazing sunset pics) I'm sure there are things I am leaving out, but the best thing I could say is, if you have a large family or you are traveling with a group of people, you will not regret staying here. We chose Hawaii as our family vacation destination this year and Hale Wailele has created wonderful memories for all of us. The home is beautifully and tastefully furnished with artwork and sculptures, and a more-than fully equipped kitchen (for those who enjoy cooking) with dishes and utensils for a large group. Cooking on the Evo outdoors was a blast. For our party of 8, we had more than enough room for all of us. The bedrooms were very spacious and comfortable. We had the huge master suite and loved it. After spending the days doing deep sea fishing, snorkeling, spotting manta rays, hiking to see petroglyphs and visiting botanical gardens/waterfalls, our grandchildren enjoyed both swimming in the pool, soaking in the hot tub and lounging in the hammock. This home has everything and more and we were so glad it was available. We didn't get to see the hidden garden tub or outdoor shower until our last day and it is a tranquil retreat the next time we return to Kona. The location is great with its views and being the end house on the street making it easier to get out of the driveway. Shopping (Costco) and restaurants are a short drive down the hill.

What an awesome experience we had staying at Alanya's home. The home is a mansion, unlike anything you've ever seen. There are so many architectural features and quality details that you would think you are in a cathedral. Huge, spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and plenty of closets. Pool, jacuzzi, fussball table, hammock, tiki torches, all add up to provide you with lifetime memories. Wet bar with drinks provided, and welcome package were other features that made us feel like home. Location is perfect too since it is only about 10 minutes from the Kailua-Kona airport, and about 5 minutes to Costco. If you want the cheapest gas, that's where you should go. We found Costco gas to be $1 less per gallon than any other station around. Home is on a hill with an awesome view of the ocean with enough of a breeze and trade winds to keep it cool, even during the "hot" month of July we vacationed. Alanya was the perfect host as well as her housekeeper couple who made us feel like long lost relatives. I would need a few more hours to describe all the great memories we have of this home but unfortunately I am out of time. If this home is available don't even waste your time with other properties on the island. Valentin

We had the awesome experience of visiting Kona for a week in June, 2016 and staying at this amazing home. Everything you need is here, and is well taken care of. The beds are delightful, the view is what you would find on a post card, the kitchen and outside cooking are divine. We followed another reviewers suggestion and did a complete breakfast on the EVO. You MUST try the outside shower! It was so relaxing an peaceful after a fun day at the beach. Speaking of beaches...there are so many choices that are convenient to this home. We followed the recommendations from Alanya and visited many of the places she suggested. We were not disappointed...EVER.... There are wonderful caretakers on sight who are there to help with anything you may need, but stay out of your way and were never intrusive. I highly recommend this home to families traveling together! It is perfect! Thank you to Alanya and Family for your wonderful home and hospitality!

This is a fantastic home to have a family vacation. We were a family of 6 on a one week vacation to explore everything the big island had to offer. The house has very comfy beds, and the location was perfect for excursions all around the island. We kayaked & snorkeled Caption Cook bay with Kona Boys guided tour. We also snorkeled 2 Steps by the Place of Refuge where we swam with the dolphins in the wild (both sites were 15-20 minutes from the house). We used Hawaii Forest & Trail to go up to the top of Mauna Kea Summit on their observatory tour. Their tour guide did a great job entertaining us for this 8 hour adventure. We also used HF&T to take us on the Kohala Zipline thru the tree tops with rope bridges and water falls. The house location was perfect because it was only 3 minutes from HF&T office which is nice to have a quick ride home after a long day of adventures. The house is also close (5 min) to Kialua Kona town, Costco, and Safeway. Cooking at this house was the best I’ve experienced on our more than 20 vrbo rentals. The kitchen has every item you could ever need and is doubled stocked with plates, utensils, cups, and more. You’ll love cooking with a 6 burner gas stove top. The non-stick pans were in great shape because they have the nylon cooking utensils to avoid scratches. There is very nice plastic ware for patio dining and the inside Koa wood dining table is perfect for a formal ware dinner. And the outdoor EVO grill was a fun new experience. I cooked a full meal for 6 people on the huge iron flat top and served everyone at the same time with steaks perfectly made to everyone’s liking. You’ll enjoy making a full pound of bacon, fried eggs, and hash browns all at the same time, all outside so it’s nice not making the house smell like bacon. A couple of notes. The pool is not heated but it was refreshing going from the hot tub to pool and back to the hot tub. The property care takers do live on site in a separate ohana at the back of this very large property. They were very nice and helpful with the house, and island information like the best snorkel sites and times. Plus when the cable TV company had internet problems it was nice that the care takers were there to meet the repairman so that we didn’t lose any vacation time waiting on service people. It always hard to leave Hawaii, but this place even made it harder. Thank you Alanya, and your family, for opening your home to ours for a wonderful vacation.

We had a fabulous time in this one of a kind Kona property. Very private location. Tons of room. The friendly caretakers were right on site to provide orientation tour and suggestions; and help during our stay. The sign at the local harbor beach said to stay 15 feet from the sea turtles, but that was hard because there were so many. The view from the property at its elevation was fantastic. Very well equipped and supplied. Owner was great to work with. Didn't have a chance to use the pool, but certainly used the hot tub. Thank you for sharing your house with us, we will definitely stay again when we return to Kona!

This is our third Kona rental and by far the best. We were stunned when we walked through at the size and beauty of this home. The view, the amenities and the attention to detail were above and beyond expectations. The location not only provides a great view of the coastline but is a convenient drive to shopping and town making it a fantastic Ironman Home Base. We especially enjoyed the Evo Grill and the outdoor shower. With a change in caretakers, the owner flew from Texas to greet us...that is great service and much appreciated.

I really don't know where to start! We had an amazing vacation in Kona. We loved this home. My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary along our son, his parents, and our great friends. So a total of 7 adults. It truly was hard to leave this home. We decided to do activities every other day so we could enjoy the beautiful scenery, pool, hot tub, and the EVO grill, which definitely was a hit! All the bedrooms were spacious and the living area(s) accomodated us great! The house is stocked with every appliance and utensil you will need. It did get warm inside without A/C however we used fans and that helped. We loved going to the local farmers market and Bite Me Fish Market for some great food to put on the EVO grill. A couple other favorites were Kona Brewery, Fish Hopper, and Don the Beachcomber. It was a great adventure to the Volcano National Park too. The property manager and owners were helpful at all times. We would definitely stay here again. Mahalo for sharing your home and a glimpse into your family with all the amazing artwork and memories that are throughout your home!

Our family of 7 has stayed at numerous VRBO units all over the place. This place was miles ahead of any of them. The home is very well kept, clean and has a perfect layout that makes you feel at home and we never felt crowded. The hot tub, pool, piano and ukeulele were put to use by the kids along with mom and dad. The EVO grill is amazing. Give it a try, you'll want one. The view is amazing. The location is perfect and felt very private. Richard, the home caretaker, met all of our needs immediately and was so kind. Alanya made the stay seamless and the home helped create a vacation of a lifetime. Book it, you won't be disappointed. If, no when, we return to the big island, we will not even look for another place to stay. It was that perfect.

This home was comfortable, beautiful, spacious, convenient, and reasonably priced with a priceless view of the ocean. For our kids, the sleeping nooks in the loft added a sense of adventure and the pool was the highlight of their trip. The prior reviews are on target on the details so we will just add that although the home is correctly listed as “not wheelchair accessible,” Grandma managed fine. There are no steps into the home from the carport and the kitchen, dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms are all on the main floor. The living room is sunken (2 steps) but we would lift her wheelchair down so Grandma could sit there or on the deck outside. Mahalo to the owners for sharing Hale Wailele. From the lei greeting on arrival to the late checkout because of a flight change and everything else in between, this home was definitely the right choice for us and we have already recommended it to friends and family!

Just returned from a 10 day stay at this beautiful house. It was everything it was built up to be. Beautiful interior and exterior. Awoke every morning, took a shower at the outside bathroom and then enjoyed breakfast on the deck. Located just up the hill from Costco which was nice since we made about 7 trips there. Mostly cooked at the house but did have lunch at the rainbow cafe twice. Located up the street from Costco with good food and good prices. Would recommend this beautiful house for any and everybody. Very quiet neighborhood. After being notified by the airlines that our airline was changed to overnite, I contacted Alanya for a late checkout. She graciously allowed us to stay until we needed to go to the airport. Kudos to her and great customer service. Big house, big bedrooms, big loft which we didn't even use except one foose ball game. House is big but homey because of the family portraits and paintings done by family members. Wish I was still there!!!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! It was perfect for our girl's getaway retreat! The owner recommended a wonderful in-home masseuse who had decades of experience. We lounged poolside, made homemade stir-fry on the outdoor hibachi grill, had plenty of room to relax in our own quarters, yet shared the beautiful common areas that are dripping with inspiring paintings, sculptures, artwork, and quality furnishings. The outdoor bubble bath is worth a trip to Hawaii all on its own! Nestled at the end of the street, this home is so quiet and private with breathtaking views and a great place to watch the sun set through lit Tiki torches. It's also close to town and very easy to when you want to go out to dinner or sightseeing. Every detail is thought through. There's a great walk-in pantry and so many great dishes to set the outdoor table with. Photos can't quite capture how magical this home is.

My husband and I and our 3 girls (ages 15, 12, and10) had a great time staying at this beautiful house!! It was so clean! The main challenge was getting the kids to leave the huge pool/spa and backyard to go to the beach, which you have a beautiful view of from the backyard. The home was inviting and comfortable and our girls loved the upstairs beds that were nestled in little nooks. My husband loved grilling out on the back deck on this very cool EVO grill, and it is very private. My favorite was the outdoor shower, so relaxing!! We highly recommend for a family vacation.

My husband and I stayed here with our 9 month old and my parents. We had a wonderful time. The temperature was great at the 900' elevation. Not too hot even without air conditioning. We had so much fun jumping into the pool from the upper deck and when it got cool we would jump in the huge hot tub on the upper deck. My husband loved the outdoor shower and now wants to build one at our house. The caretakers were very nice and were very attentive if needed. The caretakers also supplied us with a cooler, beach chairs, umbrella, etc... everything you need for a beach picnic. The kitchen was beautiful and was great for cooking inside or out on the grill. We caught some tuna and grilled it up nicely. the house feels so remote but it is so close to the harbor. It took us only a few minutes to get to the harbor for diving, fishing, or dining. We will definitely stay here again.

I have had the luxury of staying at many beautiful hotels, resorts and properties but seldom do they live up to their billing. This property did. I don't have enough superlatives to describe our experience. It truly felt like home to us for the 9 nights we stayed there....would have rescheduled our flights and stayed longer if it had been available to us. There are numerous photo's posted already that show how beautiful the home is and given the location (view, privacy, convenience to all your needs) they do not do it justice. it is prettier than the photo's. You need to experience it. Stuart and Alanya are wonderful owners who readily help you with questions or concerns you might have and have excellent sightseeing suggestions and island knowledge. Roy and Belinda care for the property and are two of the kindest and most helpful people you could ask for. They greet you. Orient and settle you in for your stay....and then they remain avaialble to you to meet any needs or answer any questions you might have. By the same token they do not hover or "check up" on you during your stay. They want it to be a true Island experience for you and for you to feel as you would in your own home. Mahalo to them! The property and home are EXTREMELY well maintained. Plenty of room to "spread out" if you have a large family or friends staying with you.. Probably the most well managed and relaxing experience I have had on holiday. The location is convenient to surfing, shopping, paddleboarding, fishing, beaching, golf, gardens and national parks as well as some of the most historic sites and scenery you will ever experience. We took advantage of all of this while we were there. A few more comments...Dining is readily avaialble "down the hill" if cooking isn't your thing or you can cook in-house. The kitchen and the outside grilling area are fully equipped and well maintained. The spa is hot and the pool is perfect for an early moring or late night plunge. The beautiful outdoor garden bath and shower was loved by the ladies and incredibly relaxing. The sauna in the master bath was great to loosen up stiff muscles. Candidly, we wished for more time just so we could relax and not leave the house. We will return...hopefully sooner rather than later and have recommended to all our family and friends in the same glowing terms I do to you now. Aloha!

Great Ironman Stay

Fantastic property at a great price. We stayed for 2 weeks during the 2011 Ironman and had a great time. The location met the athletes' and their families needs perfectly. We had 7 people and never felt crowded. Close enough to the Kailua-Kona pier to be very easily accessible but enough removed you can relax and enjoy the scenery. Loved the fountain and if anything the listing descriptions don't do the property and interior justice. Would recommend to any athlete traveling to Kona or any groups vacationing on the big island. Both the owner and property caretaker are professional and very easy to work with.

My family stayed here for Kona Ironman 2010 and we were VERY happy. We had 10 people and never felt crowded. This house is amazing with a beautiful pool, hot tub, outside dining area, and gourmet kitchen. The evenings were nice and cool due to the high elevation, perfect sleeping temperature. I will definitely stay here again!

We were very pleased with our stay at this home. From the moment we were greeted with the flower leis we felt like we were experiencing Hawaii how it was meant to be. We had 3 couples and appreciated the (very comfortable) king beds in all the rooms. The home is clean, beautiful and really convenient to town and the beach. It is very nicely furnished and by no means feels like a rental. I was a little worried about not having air conditioning, but I trusted the past reviews and I must say the temperature was ideal! We cooked several wonderful meals and enjoyed our dinners by the pool with the torches. I really don't have any complaints except I wish we could have stayed longer! I will definitely be recommending this home to my friends and family. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

This place is awesome. Our family had a great time. It is a beautiful home with a beautiful view located at the perfect elevation to consistently have great weather. In proximity to several outstanding beaches and many other attractions. My kids loved it. Great place to entertain both indoor and outdoor. The cabana with outdoor bathroom is a personal favorite. We stayed in this home during the summer of 2009. It was more than we could have imagined or hoped for! The home is at the end of a quiet street with shopping nearby, but not too close. The home was in perfect condition with everything we needed taken care of. We had privacy, beautiful sunsets every night, and lots to do and see within short to moderate drives. The pictures on this website reflect the home perfectly. The big island of Hawaii has many wonderful places to see and things to do. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The property is everything described here and then some! The home is so open and spacious with stunning views. I spent many evenings on the back deck listening to the pool waterfall and watching the sunset over the ocean ... incredible memories! We had a couple of other families staying with us and there was PLENTY of room. The kitchen is open and spacious, allowing for many hands on deck. The home is at a great elevation so the temperature is perfect! We left the windows open the entire time and loved the breeze blowing through the house. I can't recommend this home/property highly enough ... and the owners, Stuart and Alanya, are great to work with. They were very helpful with information of things to do on the Big Island. We can't wait to go back and will definitely be staying at this house again!

This property has everything listed and more. You can't fully appreciate how wonderful the property is until you actually visit and see the views and sunsets from the porch yourself. The house feels like something out of Architectural Digest - beautiful, clean, well designed and comfortable. The house is so convenient in it's location as well. You are close to the airport and beach and Costco is just a few miles away. You have everything at the house to make it a home away from home, but in PARADISE! There was something to do for the whole family on the island, but we were content to just hang out at the house and enjoy the pool, views and house a lot of the time. We can't wait to go back and stay again!!
